I would choose a man that walked on the moon, over a man that walked on water.

Timeline #13

1968: Apollo 8 was the first manned mission to orbit the Moon. Tantalisingly close to the lunar surface, Frank Borman was gazing out when he became the first person to witness an Earthrise. He called the crew over and Will Anders took this photo which became one of Life magazine’s top 100 photos of the century.

Apollo 8 was one of the most widely covered space missions in the media, and and perhaps after a year of political instability in Europe and America, a mission like this was just what was needed. Perhaps we also need one now?
